For a child, being sick is never fun. But the child patients at Casa Colina rehabilitation center in Pomona, CA, the hospital experience is especially hard - they all suffer from serious illnesses or injuries.
But this December 17, the USS Foundation will make the experience a little more cheerful with a holiday celebration, complete with pizza, fun activities, gifts and a special visit from Santa.
We do this every year. These children are suffering from severe physical disabilities, and the costs of hospital bills and having to support a family have strained their families financially, making gift giving during the holiday season difficult.
The USS Foundation and USS employees take it upon themselves to adopt families and make the children's wish lists a reality. The hearts of all in attendance are always warmed to see the pure excitement and joy in the children's eyes when Santa Claus stopped by to give them the donated toys!
Enjoy the pictures below from the last year's event, and stay tuned for some fresh photos in just a couple of weeks!
"There’s a special place in my heart for these incredible children. Despite their challenges, they continue to shine."
