The special education class at Tokay Elementary is near and dear our hearts. Like we’ve done in years past, we stopped by their classroom with a Christmas surprise. Santa Claus had a bag full of presents with a child’s name on each colorful box.
3rd Stop: Santa Heads to Mobile Hacienda Park
Mobile Hacienda is another neighborhood that our Thanksgiving Care-A-Van visited this year. We swung by again during our Merrython, with a truck full of toys! Every kid living in the neighborhood received one from Santa himself.
5th Stop: Adopt-A-Bike at Arlanza Elementary School
To surprise, delight and encourage underprivileged students in Riverside, the USS Foundation did something special: we organized an event at Arlanza Elementary School for 100 disadvantaged children. Each child receive a brand new bicycle, helmet and a lock.
2nd Stop: Santa Delivers to Aloha Mobile Home Park
When we met the little residents of Aloha during last year’s Thanksgiving Care-A-Van, Adel, the USS Foundation’s founder, was so touched by their spirit that he’s decided to visit them again before Christmas and surprise them with toys!
The children at Casa Colina Hospital and Rehabilitation Center suffer from severe physical disabilities, so the USS Foundation made their stay a little more cheerful with a holiday celebration, complete with pizza, fun activities, gifts and a special visit from Santa. Each child received a present from their wish list, purchased by the USS employees.
To wrap up the Merrython, the USS Foundation volunteers descended on the First Lutheran Church in Ontario to prepare a holiday meal for the homeless. It’s not buffet-style — all who showed up were seated and served dinner, beverages and desserts restaurant-style. Santa come along, and every child received Christmas presents.
Giving hope and inspiration to build better lives.
