Adopt-A-Bike Donations Presented On December 20-21
In Highland Park, MI, and Canton, OH
Thanks to the incredible generosity of those supporting the USS Foundation’s programs, the first bicycle donations of the Adopt-A-Bike project will go to children in Highland Park, MI, and Canton, OH, just in time for Christmas.
• Low-income students at the Barber Focus School and the Henry Ford Academy in Highland Park, MI, a suburb of Detroit, will receive 200 bicycles on December 20.
- • A total of 150 bicycles will be donated to underprivileged students at the Belden Elementary School in Canton, OH, on December 21.
Providing such incredible gifts to these needy children at this time of the year meets the mission of the USS Foundation of helping less fortunate children have a better chance at achieving their dreams. Both of these communities have been hit particularly hard by the current recession with high poverty and unemployment rates. These donations will show them that others care and want them to have a better chance at life.
Watch this website for a report of the events, and, again, thank you to all who have helped to make this a reality for so many children with so little hope.

Highland Park School District
Highland Park, MI

This community desperately seeks an awakening and a return to prosperity. It looks to its younger generation for this renaissance, but they will not be able to achieve those expectations without the basis of a strong education, so the USS Foundation selected Highland Park as a participant in the Adopt-A-Bike program to provide bicycles to students as a reliable way to travel to school.

Canton City Schools
Canton, OH

While the city struggles to convert from a manufacturing to a service-based economy, many are left struggling to make ends meet and, unfortunately, those who often suffer the most are the children.
