Imagine a child with no gifts under the Christmas tree. In many parts of the country this is reality. Now imagine a shiny new bicycle under that Christmas three. This is now becoming reality too.
Through our Adopt-a-Bike program, the USS Foundation has surprised multitudes of children with a gift they never expected. We have visited ten states so far, and selected schools in the most underprivileged communities. For many children that bicycle was the only gift they received for Christmas.
Our goal is to expand our Adopt-a-Bike program to all 50 states by the end of this decade. Our partners in the loss prevention family have already jumped in to help by sponsoring hundreds of bikes.
Our reward? Seeing the joy in the children’s eyes. Seeing them realize that they are not forgotten, that there are those who care about them.
We are the USS Foundation. And this is what we do.
Charity Golf Tournament
The USS Foundation hosts an Annual Charity Golf Tournament to help raise funds for our charity's numerous programs, such as Adopt-A-Bike, Thanksgiving Care-A-Van and our Merrython program, among others.
This is the only event we host that helps us raise funds to support the work that goes into making our programs come to life every year. Without your support none of this would be possible, so Thank You!
Benefitting from these great events are hundreds of kids who receive free bicycles through our Adopt-a-Bike program every year. Over 2,000 bikes have already been given out!
Also benefitting are children recovering from serious injuries at Casa Colina rehabilitation centers, as well as homeless and low income families that we surprise for the holidays every year.
"The USS Foundation is proud to support the National Center and the invaluable services they provide to some of the most vulnerable members of our society—our children." Adel Sayegh, USSF Founder
Thanksgiving is our nation’s oldest holiday. The day traditionally gathers families around the dinner table to celebrate their blessings. But is this a tradition underprivileged families should do without? The USS Foundation doesn’t think so.
The Thanksgiving Care-A-Van hits the road every year to deliver Thanksgiving dinners to local disadvantaged families. Just before Thanksgiving the USS Foundation, with the San Bernardino County Police Department, Fontana Police Department and our sponsors, provides packages containing the makings for a full Thanksgiving meal — turkey, cranberry sauce, two pies ... the works.
Every year we surpass our goal and have reached out to over 500 families across four communities. To see highlights from our successful Care-A-Van, check out the photos and videos in the gallery!
Feed The Homeless
For nearly a decade now, the USS Foundation has hosted an evening of delicious food and holiday cheer for the homeless and poverty-stricken in our community.
Together with our friends from the First Lutheran Church of Ontario, we serve over 200 individuals who otherwise would not have a holiday meal. As always, we bring Santa with us, and he will have presents for all the children in attendance!
For a child, being sick is never fun. But the child patients at Casa Colina rehabilitation center in Pomona, CA, the hospital experience is especially hard - they all suffer from serious illnesses or injuries.
The USS Foundation will make the experience a little more cheerful with a holiday celebration, complete with pizza, fun activities, gifts and a special visit from Santa.
We do this every year. These children are suffering from severe physical disabilities, and the costs of hospital bills and having to support a family have strained their families financially, making gift giving during the holiday season difficult.
The USS Foundation adopts families and make the children's wish lists a reality. The hearts of all in attendance are always warmed to see the pure excitement and joy in the children's eyes when Santa Claus stopped by to give them the donated toys!
The Merrython is a culmination of all our holiday events wrapped into a month long extravaganza. We ensure that our communities never feel alone during the holiday season, seeking to spread holiday cheer to those in less favorable circumstances.
Through the support from the LP community, as well as Santa himself, the USS Foundation is proud to provide presents to children living in less favorable conditions than most. With the sole goal of putting a smile on these families faces, the Merrython is made possible with your help! We thank you for your support.
